Tawa Paneer | Indian Veg Recipe

Frying the paneer on a high flame on a large tawa makes the dish aromatic and tast. This can be made at home in a kadai or pan as well. Tawa paneer is kept very simple and is made with basic ingredients.



    • ¼ cup yogurt
    • 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
    • ½ tablespoon red chilli powder
    • ¼ tablespoon turmeric
    • ¼ tablespoon coriander powder
    • ¼ tablespoon cumin powder
    • ½ tablespoon garam masala
    • ¼ tablespoon carom seeds
    • 1 tablespoon kasuri methi
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    • 1 tablespoon salt
    • 250 grmas paneer (cubes shape)
    • oil
    • 1 tsp  butter
    • 1 tablespoon jeera
    • 1 finely chopped onion
    • ½ chopped capsicum
    • ¼ tablespoon turmeric
    • 1 tablespoon pav bhaji masala
    • ¾ cup tomato
    • 3 tablespoon water


  • 2 tablespoon finely chopped coriander

Instruction to make Tawa Paneer

    1. First in a bowl  add yogurt, ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, carom seeds, kasuri methi, lemon juice, salt, paneer cubes and mix well and marinate for 15 minutes.
    1. Now rost marinated paneer on hot tawa adding oil as required.
    1. Flip over and roast on all the sides and keep aside.
    1. Then in a large kadai heat butter and oil.
    1. Once the oil is hot add cumin and roast until the jeera turns aromatic.
    1. Now, add onion and ginger garlic paste. saute well.
    1. Then add ½ capsicum and saute for a minute and add turmeric, chilli powder, salt and roast in low flame.
    1. Add tomato puree and saute until the tomato puree thickens and oil is released from sides.
    1. Further put water and mix well.
    1. Now add in roasted paneer pieces and mix gently.
  1. finally, garnish with chopped coriander and enjoy tawa paneer with rice or chapathi/roti.
