Shankarpali is a snack popular in Indian specially in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka. Shankarpali is a traditional recipe. It is very easy to prepare at home.
- 1 cup maida
- 1 tablespoon semolina
- ¾ tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
- ¾ tablespoon sugar
- salt to taste
- 2 tablespoon ghee
- water as required
Instruction to make Shankarpali
First, in a large mixing bowl add maida, semolina, chilli powder, cumin seeds, sugar, salt to taste and mix well.
Now add hot ghee to the flour.
Then add water and start to knead the dough for 5 minutes.
Now cover with moist cloth and let is set for 30 minutes.
Knead again and pinch a large ball and flatten them, grease the rolling base and rolling pin, roll them into round shape.
With the help of knife cut them into diamond.
Heat oil in a pan and deep fry shankarapli until golden brown on the medium.
Drain them on kitchen towel to remove excess oil and let them cool to room temperature.
Shankarpali is ready to serve.
