Rajasthani Mirchi Vada Recipe | Rajasthan Snack | Indian Cuisine

Rajasthani Mirchi Vada Recipe is a very popular Rajasthani Cuisine which is liked rather loved by everybody. Simple, easy and most delicious spicy snack for tea time.


  • Large green peppers (Chillies)- 12-15
  • Besan (chick-pea flour) – 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Water (to mix the batter)
  • Oil for deep-frying
    For the filling:
  • Potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed – 250 gm
  • Salt to taste
  • Chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Amchoor (dried mango powder) – 2 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 2 tsp
  • Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
  • Saunf (fennel seeds), crushed – 2 tsp
  • Green chillis, chopped  – 1 tsp

Rajasthani Mirchi Vada Recipe Procedure:

         For the filling:

  1. In a bowl mix together the mashed potatoes,  salt, chilli powder, amchoor, coriander powder, asafoetida, green chillies

    For the vada:
  2. Wash and wipe the green peppers(large chillies), slit lengthwise, and take off all the seeds.
  3. Fill it with the potato filling.
  4. Now, mix the besan with the salt and enough water to form a thick paste.
  5. In a deep frying pan, heat the oil.
  6. It’s time to dip the pepper in the batter and drop it gently into the hot oil.
  7. Fry till a golden colour in medium flame.
    Serve hot once you fry. Can eat with tomato sauce or chatni.
