Punjabi Mix Dal Recipe:
Punjabi mix dal is an authentic Punjabi Cuisine recipe prepared with usual Indian spices.
This easy lunch food recipe ready with an equal quantity of chana and urad dal can be served with roti, rumali roti or naan.
Ingredients of Punjabi Mix Dal:
- 1 cup chana dal
- 1 teaspoon powdered turmeric
- Then, 1 small finely chopped onion
- 1 clove finely chopped garlic
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- After that, 1 red chili
- 1/2 cup urad dal
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 small finely chopped tomato
- Then, 1 finely chopped green chili
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 2 tablespoon butter
How to make Punjabi Mix Dal:
First Marinate the chana dal and urad dal separately for about 15 – 20 minutes. Clean them thrice and keep alone.
In a pressure cooker, put in 2 cups of water and chana dal. Include salt and turmeric powder. Cook until 2 whistles and turn off the gas. Let it fresh.
Add covered with water urad dal into the boiled chana dal, cook awaiting 2 whistles.
For tempering – take a pan, add oil or clarified butter into it. Once the oil begins to find hot, add cumin seeds and full red chilies.
When the cumin seeds begin to bubble, add chopped garlic and saute for 3 – 4 minutes.
Add chopped onion; sauté it awaiting onion becomes transparent. At this time add green chili and tomato into it.
Heat until the tomato becomes warm or soft. Add red chili powder, saute it and turn off the gas.
Dispense this tempering on the dal and the mix-up dal is prepared to Serve it hot with roti, rumali roti or naan.
