Panasa Puttu Koora | Raw Jackfruit curry | Andhra Jackfruit curry

Andhra style Panasa Puttu Koora veg recipe of raw jackfruit, with masalas and topped with crushed cashew nuts, delicious recipe.


  • jackfruit (300 gm, Kathal)
  • Salt  to taste
  • Turmeric powder(1/2 tbsp)
  • oil
  • For the main preparation:
  • oil (3 Tbsp )
  • cumin seeds (1/4 tsp )
  • mustard seeds (1/4 tsp)
  • curry leaves (4-5 )
  • garlic paste (1 tsp )
  • chopped onion (2 1/2 tsp )
  • Pinch of turmeric powder
  • crushed red chillies (1 tsp )
  • chopped tomatoes (2 Tbsp )
  • salt (1/2 tsp )
  • tamarind water (4-5 tsp )
  • Prepared jack fruit
  • Chopped coriander leaves to taste
  • Cashewnuts to taste
  • garam masala (1/4 tsp)

Panasa Puttu Koora Process:

    1. Chop the raw jackfruit into small pieces.
    2. Mix the jackfruit in salt, turmeric powder, and oil and keep it for some time for marination.
    3. Now boil those marinated jackfruits in water and keep aside.

For the main preparation:

  1. Take a heavy bottom pan and heat oil. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, chopped onions, garlic paste, chopped tomatoes,  turmeric powder, crushed red chillies,  salt and tamarind water.
  2. Fry it till the onions turn light brown. Now add the prepared boiled jack-fruit, chopped coriander leaves, cashew nuts and garam masala. Mix all the ingredients well.
  3. The Panas Puttu Koora is ready to eat. Serve with white rice.
