Masala Majjige(Buttermilk) is very popular in Karnataka. Its is very tasty and easy to prepare. Buttermilk is made up of curd, chilli, coriander etc.
- 2 cups chilled curd
- 1 green chilli chopped
- 2 springs coriander leaves chopped
- ½ tablespoon finely chopped ginger
- 2 cups cold water
- salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon oil
- ½ tablespoon mustard seeds
- ½ tablespoon cumin seeds
- 1 dried red chilli
- Pinch hing
Instruction to make Masala Majjige
In a small blender, blend coriander, ginger and chilli along with tablespoon of curd and blend to a smooth paste.
Now in a large blender add curd, cold water and blend well.
Combine the ground masala with blended curd and mixed well
Then heat oil in a small pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chillies and hing. When the seeds crackle off the flame and pour on top of the blended curd.
Serve Masala Majjige in a serving glass.
