Mango Rice Recipe | Karnataka Cuisine

Mango Rice is an India recipe. It is very popular in Karnataka. Mango rice is made up of rice, mango, green chili, curry leaves, mustard seeds.

Ingredients 

  • 2 cup cooked rice
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon urad dal
  • Pinch of hing 
  • 1 tablespoon chana dal
  • few curry leaves
  • 3 tablespoon roasted peanuts
  • 1 cup raw mango grated
  • 2 green chili
  • ¼ tablespoon turmeric 
  • Salt to taste
  • 3-4 tablespoon oil
  • 2 tablespoon coriander leaves finely chopped
  • Few curry leaves

Instruction to make Mango Rice

  1. In a pan add oil and heat.
  2. Now add mustard,  urad dal and chana dal, pinch of hing, curry leaves and allow to splutter.
  3. Then add roasted peanuts and saute for a minute.
  4. Add raw mango, green chili and turmeric. Saute till mango shrinks.
  5. Now add cooked rice, salt and mix gently. Cover and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. furthermore add coriander leaves and mix well.
  7. Mango rice is ready to serve.
