Jalebis are Indian desserts made by deep-frying a madia batter in circular shapes, which are then soaked in sugar syrup. They can be served warm or cold as well.
- ½ cup maida
- 1 tablespoon corn flour
- ¼ tablespoon baking soda
- ½ tablespoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon yogurt
- ⅛ tablespoon yellow food color
- 1 tablespoon ghee
- ¼ cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ tablespoon cardamom powder
Instruction to make Jalebi
first, in a mixing bowl add maida, corn flour, yogurt.
Add vinegar and water. Mix well in round circular directions for 5 minutes.
Now add baking soda, yellow food color and give a gentle mix.
Then pour this batter into the tomato ketchup bottles.
Heat oil in a pan and add ghee.
Squeeze the bottle and make round spirals with the batter.
Cooked both the side in a medium flame, fry till the jalebis are a light golden.
- Now add 1 cup of sugar in 1/4 cup water.
- When sugar syrupy is rolling boil, 10 minutes later add cardamom and switch off the flame. Cool for few minutes.
Then immediately drop the fried jalebis in the warm sugar syrup for few seconds.
Serve hot or warm jalebis in serving plate.
