Ingredients:

  • Lamb meat – 250 gm
  • Turmeric powder to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Ginger-garlic paste
    For the curry:
  • Refined oil – 2 Tbsp
  • Cloves – 6
  • Cardamoms – 3
  • Cinnamon – 1 stick
  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Chopped onions – 3 Tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • Gongura leaves – 100 gm
  • Red chilli powder – 1 Tbsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves – 1/2 tsp
  • Slit green chillies – 6
  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • Water – 50 ml
  • Salt – 1 1/2 tsp
  • Fried red chilli, curry leaves
  • Butter or ghee

Gongura Mamsam Recipe Procedure:

  1. In a pan boil the meat with turmeric powder, salt and ginger garlic paste.
  2. In another pan heat oil. To this add cloves, cardamoms, cumin seeds and chopped onions. Saute them and onions till they turn translucent.
  3. Now, add ginger garlic paste, gongura leaves, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, curry leaves, slit green chillies, chopped coriander leaves, boiled meat, water and salt to taste.
  4. Mix everything well and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Garnish it with fried red chillies, curry leaves and butter or ghee.
  6. Serve hot. It tastes good with rice.
