Goan Prawn Curry Recipe is a typical west coast cuisine. It is easy and fast to prepare. The coconut oil and the milk enhance the rich culture of the western coast.
Ingredients:
- Prawns – 500 gm
- Turmeric -1 tsp
- Coconut milk -2 cups
- Chopped onions -200 gm
- Coconut Oil – 2 Tbsp
- Green chillies – 2 Tbsp
- Whole red chillies – 4-5
- Coriander 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds -1 tsp
- 6 black pepper
- Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
- Ginger – 1
- Cloves – 6
- Coconut – 1/2 cup
- Vinegar -1/4 cup
- Salt to taste
Goan Prawn Curry Recipe Procedure:
For the prawn masala:
Grind together all ingredients with vinegar.
For the curry:
- Marinate the prawns with turmeric and salt. Keep aside for half an hour.
- In a pan, take little coconut oil and fry onions until light brown.
- Now, add the ground masala and fry. Add prawns and fry until pink.
- Then add some coconut milk. Make sure you keep stirring the masala gently while adding coconut milk or else it will curdle.
- Bring it to boil.
- Simmer for 5 minutes and garnish with green chillies.
