Goan Prawn Curry Recipe is a typical west coast cuisine. It is easy and fast to prepare. The coconut oil and the milk enhance the rich culture of the western coast.

Ingredients:

  • Prawns – 500 gm
  • Turmeric -1 tsp
  • Coconut milk -2 cups
  • Chopped onions -200 gm
  • Coconut Oil – 2 Tbsp
  • Green chillies – 2 Tbsp
  • Whole red chillies – 4-5
  • Coriander 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds -1 tsp
  • 6 black pepper
  • Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger – 1
  • Cloves – 6
  • Coconut – 1/2 cup
  • Vinegar -1/4 cup
  • Salt to taste

Goan Prawn Curry Recipe Procedure:

For the prawn masala:

       Grind together all ingredients with vinegar.

For the curry:

  1. Marinate the prawns with turmeric and salt. Keep aside for half an hour.
  2. In a pan, take little coconut oil and fry onions until light brown.
  3. Now, add the ground masala and fry. Add prawns and fry until pink.
  4. Then add some coconut milk. Make sure you keep stirring the masala gently while adding coconut milk or else it will curdle.
  5. Bring it to boil.
  6. Simmer for 5 minutes and garnish with green chillies.
