Fish Hooman Recipe | Goan Cuisine | Fish Curry | Non Veg Recipes

Fish Hooman Recipe is a traditional Goan fish curry. This tastes excellent with steamed red rice.Try this to enjoy the authentic taste of Goan cuisine.

 

Ingredients:

  • Kingfish – 1 medium sized
  •  garlic – 10 gm
  •  ginger – 10 gm
  •  coconut – 1 cup
  • chilli powder – 10 gm
  •  coriander seed -1/2 tbsp
  • onion chopped -2 cup
  • red chillies – 7
  •  cumin seed – 1 tbsp
  •  turmeric powder -3 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  •  tomatoes chopped – 2 big
  • kokum – 5
  • Oil
  •  water – 3 cup

Fish Hooman Recipe Procedure:

  • Grind one cup onion, ginger, 2 bay leaves, red chilli, coconut and cumin seeds.
  • Make small pieces of fish
  • Sprinkle 2 tsp of salt, two tsp of turmeric powder and garlic paste and rub gently all over the fish pieces and let it marinate for 30 munites.
  • Now,  deep fry the all the fish pieces.
  • Put 2 tbsp of fresh oil in the same pan, make sure you remove all the leftover of the fried fish.
  • To this add onion and allow it to turn a little brown.
  • Now, add the ground paste, tomatoes, leftover turmeric powder and salt to taste.
  • Cook till the paste becomes a little brown (it takes around 10 minutes).
  • Add kokum or its concentrated juice.
  • Now, put all the fried fish pieces into it and allow it to boil for 15 minutes.
  • Serve Fish Hooman Recipe with steamed rice.
