Dimer Dhokkar Dalna-Luchi Recipe | Bengali Cuisine | Egg Delicacy

Dimer Dhokkar Dalna-Luchi Recipe is a typical Bengali cuisine. Prepared by the steamed egg and potato cake.

Ingredients:

  • Potato – 300 gms
  • Eggs – 7
  • Green chillies chopped – 10 gm
  • Chopped ginger – 10 gm
  • Green coriander – 50 gm
  • Cumin powder – 10 gm
  • Coriander powder – 10 gm
  • Red chilli powder – 10 gm
  • Turmeric powder – 10 gm
  • Garam masala powder – 30 gm
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder to taste
  • Oil for greasing – 50 ml

          For curry:

  • Panch phoran – 10 gm
  • Onion paste – 150 gm
  • Chicken stock – 4 liter
  • Ginger paste – 10 gm
  • Garlic paste – 10 gm
  • Curd – 50 gm
  • Tomato puree – 50 gm
  • Cumin powder – 10 gm
  • Coriander powder – 10 gms
  • Turmeric powder – 10 gms
  • Red chilli powder – 10 gms
  • Sugar – 10 gms
  • Mustard oil – 500 ml (for frying and cooking)
  • Gram masala powder – 20 gm
  • Green coriander – 30 gms
  • Salt to taste
  • Maggi bhuna masala – 50 gms
    For luchi:
  • Refined flour – 200 gms
  • Black onion seed – 20 gms
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee – 500 gms

Dimer Dhokkar Dalna-Luchi Recipe Procedure:

For dhokkar dalna:

  1. In a pan boil potato and grate it. There should not be any lumps.
  2. To this add beaten egg.
  3. To this add all powder spices and pour in a greased baking tray.
  4. Steam cook it for 20 minutes
  5. Once done take it out, cool it, cut it into the desired shape
  6. Then deep fry them. Keep aside.
    For curry:
  7. In a pan put some oil. To this add panch phoran and saute it.
  8. To this add brown onion paste, ginger and garlic paste and saute.
  9. Now, add powder spices, tomato puree, salt, sugar and cook it properly.
  10. Add chicken stock to it and reduce.
  11. Put fried pieces into it and cook it for some time. This will make them soft and juicy.
    For luchi:
  12. In a bowl take flour, add salt and kalonji, mix it well, add ghee.
  13. Add a little water and make a dough out of the mixture.
  14. Divide it into small balls, roll it through rolling pin and deep fried it.
