Patishapta Pitha Recipe | Bengali Dessert | Indian Cuisine

Patishapta Pitha Recipe is very popular Bengali dessert. This is served on many auspicious occasions. This Indian cuisine(dessert) tastes mild but very tasty. Try this and let us know.


  • Refined flour / maida – 1 cup
  • sooji – 1/2 cup
  • rice flour – 1/4 cup
  •  milk – 1 1/2 to 2 cups
  • Oil, to cook the patishapta
  • For the filling:
  •  grated coconut / khoya – 3 cups
  • sugar / date jaggery – 2 Tbsp
  • green cardamoms – 3-4

Patishapta Pitha Recipe Procedure:

  1. For the filling:
  2. In a deep pan mix grated coconut or khoya with sugar or jaggery and place it o a low flame.
  3. If making with khoya, add a little milk.
  4. While cooking adds cardamom in it.
  5. Keep stirring the mixture. Make sure it gets sticky.
  6. Keep aside to cool. 
    For the patishapta:
  7. In a bowl, take maida, sooji, and rice flour.
  8. To this add milk. Mix it without making any lumps. Keep the mixture for half an hour.
  9. Now, heat the non-stick pan. Put little oil.
  10. Gently pour a thin layer of the mixture on it and spread it quickly with the laddle.
  11. Put the filling lengthwise at the center. Gently roll it.
  12. Wait till the color is light brown.
  13. You can pour condensed milk and eat to make it more delicious.
