Basundi is a delicious Indian sweet made by full fat milk and sugar, it is then garnished with nuts. Basundi is very popular in Maharashtra, Gujarat and some parts of Karnataka.
- 2 cup milk full cream
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 tablespoon cashew chopped
- 2 tablespoon almonds chopped
- 2 tablespoon pistachios chopped
- ¼ tablespoon saffron
- ¼ tablespoon cardamom powder
Instruction to make Basundi
In a large bowl boil milk stirring occasionally.
Once the milk comes to a boil, add chopped cashew, almonds and pistachios and stir well.
Boil the milk on low flame for 30 minutes and keep stirring in between to avoid sticking.
Now add sugar and saffron and mix well.
Boil till the milk thickens completely.
Now add cardamom powder and mix well.
finally, serve basundi chilled by garnished with few dry fruits.
