Aloo Cutlet | Indian Cuisine

Aloo Cutlet is a snack originating from the North India. It is made up of boiled potatoes, onions and various curry spices.


  • 3 potato boiled and mashed
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • ¼ cup rava
  • ½ tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon red chilli powder 
  • ½ tablespoon coriander powder
  • ¼ tablespoon cumin powder 
  • ½ tablespoon chaat masala
  • ½ tablespoon pepper powder
  • 2-3 green chilli finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon coriander finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoon maida 
  • 2 tablespoon corn flour 
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • Water

Instruction to make Aloo Cutlet

  1. In a large bowl add water, oil and salt. Stir and get to a boil.
  2. Now add add rava stirring continuously on a medium flame.
  3. Transfer the cooked rava into mixing bowl, and cool completely. Then add boiled and mashed potato.
  4. Now add ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, chaat masala, green chilli finely chopped, pepper powder, coriander and salt. Mix well and make sure all ingredients are combined well.
  5. Take small bowl add water, maida and corn flour to make corn flour batter. Dip in corn flour batter covering both sides.
  6. Now roll in breadcrumbs on both the sides.
  7. Pan fry the patties in hot oil until golden brown.
  8. Drain over kitchen paper to remove excess oil.
  9. Serve aloo cutlet with chutney tomato sauce.
